Hamburg Property Tax Search Portal

The Hamburg online tax portal lets you search by bill number, tax map number, property address, or owner name. When you search by address, enter only the street number and name. Leave off suffixes like Road, Drive, or Avenue. For owner name searches, skip the middle initial. The system shows your current balance, any payments made, and the due dates for each tax type.

For a deeper look at rates over time, the Hamburg Property Assessment System shows a 10-year history of general town, county, and school tax rates. This tool breaks down rates by school district. In 2024, Frontier Central ran $28.92 per thousand, Hamburg Central was $37.75, Orchard Park sat at $37.40, and West Seneca was $35.08. Town rates outside villages were $11.81, while properties inside villages paid $5.18. The county rate was $10.53.

Hamburg Property Tax Payment Options

In-person payments go to the Town Clerk's Office at 6100 South Park Avenue, Hamburg, NY 14075. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Extended hours apply during tax season. Call (716) 649-6111 ext. 2345 for questions. Make checks payable to "Brad M. Rybczynski-Town Clerk."

Online payments accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express with a 2.5% service fee (minimum $1.80). Visa debit cards carry a $4.00 flat fee. Electronic checks cost $2.00 flat. These fees go to the web service provider, not the town. Online payments close after December 1st, so you need to pay in person or by mail after that date.

Parcels outside the villages get two tax bills each year. The combined town and county bill goes out in January with a mid-February due date. The school tax bill goes out in September with an October 15 deadline. Properties inside the Villages of Blasdell or Hamburg get village tax bills too. The formula is simple: take your assessment, divide by 1,000, and multiply by the tax rate.

Note: Payments made at Erie County offices will not show up on the town's website.

Hamburg Assessment Calendar

March 1 is the most important date in Hamburg's assessment calendar. That is the taxable status date. The physical condition of your property on that day determines your assessed value for the year. The tentative assessment roll gets filed on May 1. Grievance Day falls on the fourth Tuesday in May. Bring comparable sales or an appraisal to support your case if you file Form RP-524. The equalization rate gets calculated each year by the state.

The assessment roll and property data are open for inspection during normal business hours year-round. You can visit the assessor's office at Town Hall to review any parcel's record. Questions about assessments go to the assessor. Questions about tax bills and payments go to the Town Clerk.
